On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, on the occasion of the Hungarian Science Day, Ir\u00e9n Bilkei, PhD<\/strong>, a historian, archivist and archaeologist from Zalaegerszeg, gave a lecture on everyday life in Western Transdanubia in the 15th and 16th centuries.
\nThe lecturer discussed everyday life in three areas:
\n1. Scenes of life, settlements and living conditions.
\n2. Occupations, lifestyle: diet, clothing, travel, hygienic conditions.
\n3. Thought, superstition, reading and writing, culture of behavior, time measurement.<\/p>\n

The source material for the topic was archaeological finds and written sources. Among the latter, it is important to mention the abundance of written information about the B\u00e1nffy gentlemen of Lower Hungary, from which it is possible to learn about the life of an aristocratic family and also the life of \u201cordinary\u201d people of that period.<\/p>\n

The lecture, which was attended by a large number of listeners, took place in the premises of the B\u00e1nffy Center in Lendava, organized by the Institute for the Culture of Hungarian Ethnicity, the Association of Prekmursk Hungarian Scientists and Researchers and the Institute for Ethnic Issues – Unit Lendava.<\/p>\n

\n3. Mentalit\u00e1s, hiedelmek, \u00edr\u00e1s-l\u00e1v\u00e1ng\u00e1s, bev\u00e1l\u00e1tskult\u00fara, it\u0151m\u00e9r\u00e9s.
\nA t\u00e9ma fors\u00e1\u00f0anyagai r\u00e9g\u00e9szeti leletek \u00e9s \u00edrott fors\u00e1r\u00e1s voltas.
