Pursuant to Article 71 of the Scientific Research and Innovation Activities Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 186\/21, 40\/23 and 102\/24)<\/span> and <\/span>Article 23 of the Statute of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, No. 014\/2023-1, dated 22.2.2023, <\/span>2<\/span>.20<\/span>23,<\/span> the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjav\u010deva 26, Ljubljana, announces a public call for applications for the position of <\/span><\/p>\n

director of the institute<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. <\/span>A researcher who meets the following conditions may be appointed as director of the Institute for Ethnic Studies:<\/span><\/p>\n

– <\/span>has a third-level degree or education corresponding to the level of education obtained through third-level study programs and classified at level 10 in accordance with the law governing the Slovenian qualifications framework, in the field of activity of the institute,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>has an active command of the Slovenian language,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>has an active command of one world language, preferably English,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>has experience in performing demanding management tasks,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>has the ability to organize and lead scientific research work,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>meets the criteria for leading a basic research project,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>prepares a five-year development vision for the institute, and <\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>meets other conditions set by applicable regulations. <\/span><\/div>\n

\n

2. The application must contain: <\/span><\/p>\n

– <\/span>proof of education;<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>proof of knowledge of one world language;<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>description of work experience, including all previous employment with the start and end dates of employment with each employer and a description of the work and tasks performed by the candidate for each employer<\/span>;<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>a vision for the development of the institute over the next five years.<\/p>\n

Proof of education in the field of the institute’s activities is provided by <\/span>that the candidate has obtained education in the field of the institute’s activities, as specified in Article 4 of the Decision on the Establishment of the Public Research Institute Institute for Ethnic Studies (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, <\/span>No. <\/span>114\/22) and Articles 5 and 6 of the Statute of the Institute for Ethnic Studies.<\/p>\n

Proof of knowledge of a world language is considered to be proof that the candidate has been educated in that language (obtained a degree \u2013 primary, secondary, or postgraduate \u2013 in the country where that language is the mother tongue), or has achieved a VII. level of education in the study of one of the world languages, or has performed work of a high academic level abroad in a foreign language for 6 months or more, or has successfully passed an exam in a world language at the undergraduate university level or other appropriate proof of knowledge of a world language. <\/span><\/p>\n

The above evidence may be in the form of copies. <\/span><\/p>\n

Incomplete applications and applications that show that the candidate does not meet the tender conditions will not be included in the selection process. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

3. The public tender procedure will be conducted by the administrative board, which will also appoint the most suitable candidate for the position of director. <\/span><\/p>\n

The selected candidate will be issued a decision, and the unsuccessful candidates will be notified within 30 days of the conclusion of the public tender. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. The director will be appointed for a term of five years with the possibility of reappointment. <\/span><\/p>\n

The director will perform their duties at the premises of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjav\u010deva 26, Ljubljana. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

5. Candidates shall submit their applications in writing, in a sealed envelope <\/span>marked<\/span> “Do not open \u2013 for tender \u2013 director” to the address: Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjav\u010deva 26, Ljubljana, within 15 days of the date of publication by the Employment Service of Slovenia, in a daily newspaper and on the institute’s website, with the application period beginning on the day after the last publication.<\/p>\n

6. Candidates can obtain additional information about the public call by calling 01 200 18 72 every day from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <\/span><\/p>\n

The terms used in the text of the public tender, written in the masculine grammatical form, are used as neutral for both men and women. <\/span><\/p>\n
