The challenge is also present in the media sector, which is facing increasing global competition and changing consumption trends, threatening media spheres in official national languages and, even more so, regional and minority languages.

The aim of the PLURILINGMEDIA project is to accelerate cooperation and ensure consistency in the field of European media from the perspective of linguistic plurality, to encourage collaboration between researchers in related fields, and to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between academics and practitioners. This includes changes in digitization that affect media consumption and provision, present opportunities and threats for journalists, and influence policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders. Academics working on these topics tend to focus on individual language areas, and knowledge transfer remains limited across academic disciplines, career stages, geography, and industry.

The dissemination of good practice examples will be particularly important for smaller language areas and less well-funded media, which may be able to take advantage of certain elements of digitization. In addition, the inclusion of individual content creators with institutional actors in the media sphere will bring additional plurality to the media sphere, with the aim of identifying the benefits of bringing these actors together on the same platforms and sharing methods for reaching younger audiences. Through all this, PLURILINGMEDIA aims to showcase the plurality of a given regional or minority language sphere and thus enable the use of language through the media.
More information about PLURILINGMEDIA can be found on the COST website.

[61
post-7649","projects","type-projects","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project-categories-cost-2
["GET
