The purpose of the study was to examine parents\u2019 attitudes toward learning the Slovenian language, the importance of Slovenian and the Porabje dialect in the family environment, and the impact of the ethnic kindergarten on preserving language and cultural identity among members of the Slovenian ethnic community. The study was based on a quantitative research method. Data were collected using a questionnaire administered to parents of children attending the J\u00e1t\u00e9kv\u00e1r kindergarten. Analysis of the responses provided insight into parents\u2019 attitudes toward learning Slovenian, the use of the Slovenian language in the family environment, their motivation for enrolling their children in the Slovenian group, and their perception of the kindergarten\u2019s role in preserving language and identity.
