Prospects for cultural tourism: the heritage of linguistic communities

On Thursday, November 6, a conference entitled Perspectives for Cultural Tourism: The Heritage of Language Communities was held in Trieste as part of the project Interreg VI-A Primis Plus – Stories of Multiculturalism: A Sensory Journey Through the Lens of Minorities.

Dr. Lara Sorgo presented the activities and results achieved by the staff of the Institute for Ethnic Studies (INV) during the project: the opening of a multimedia room and the preparation of a cross-border strategy for sustainable tourism.

The opening of the multimedia room took place on June 16 at the INV premises, where an interactive map was also presented to the public. The strategy, which is currently in its final phase, is based on analyses, examples of good practices, and consultations with stakeholders on both sides of the border. Its goal is to create a joint cross-border framework for sustainable and inclusive tourism development that respects the cultural and linguistic diversity of the area.
