Pursuant to Article 71 of the Scientific Research and Innovation Activities Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 186/21, 40/23 and 102/24) and Article 23 of the Statute of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, No. 014/2023-1, dated 22.2.2023, 2.2023, the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjavčeva 26, Ljubljana, announces a public call for applications for the position of
director of the institute
1. A researcher who meets the following conditions may be appointed as director of the Institute for Ethnic Studies:

Proof of education in the field of the institute’s activities is provided by that the candidate has obtained education in the field of the institute’s activities, as specified in Article 4 of the Decision on the Establishment of the Public Research Institute Institute for Ethnic Studies (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 114/22) and Articles 5 and 6 of the Statute of the Institute for Ethnic Studies.
Proof of knowledge of a world language is considered to be proof that the candidate has been educated in that language (obtained a degree – primary, secondary, or postgraduate – in the country where that language is the mother tongue), or has achieved a VII. level of education in the study of one of the world languages, or has performed work of a high academic level abroad in a foreign language for 6 months or more, or has successfully passed an exam in a world language at the undergraduate university level or other appropriate proof of knowledge of a world language.
The above evidence may be in the form of copies.
Incomplete applications and applications that show that the candidate does not meet the tender conditions will not be included in the selection process.
3. The public tender procedure will be conducted by the administrative board, which will also appoint the most suitable candidate for the position of director.
The selected candidate will be issued a decision, and the unsuccessful candidates will be notified within 30 days of the conclusion of the public tender.
4. The director will be appointed for a term of five years with the possibility of reappointment.
The director will perform their duties at the premises of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjavčeva 26, Ljubljana.
5. Candidates shall submit their applications in writing, in a sealed envelope marked “Do not open – for tender – director” to the address: Institute for Ethnic Studies, Erjavčeva 26, Ljubljana, within 15 days of the date of publication by the Employment Service of Slovenia, in a daily newspaper and on the institute’s website, with the application period beginning on the day after the last publication.
