Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Slovenians Abroad Matej Arčon presented the awards for the 22nd competition organized by the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses on the topic of Slovenians abroad and emigration at a special ceremony.
Among the award winners was Neža Hlebanja, PhD, a colleague at the Institute for Ethnic Studies, who received second prize for her doctoral dissertation entitled Emigration from the Slovenian Ethnic Territory to Brazil and the History of the Slovenian Immigrant Community in Brazil.
