On Wednesday, March 11 2026, the conference room of the Institute for Ethnic Issues hosted a screening of the Slovene documentary film “New Classmates“. The film discusses the challenges of integrating children with Albanian as their mother tongue into the Slovene school system, while raising a host of questions related primarily to education, employment, and the (non)acceptance of immigrants and their descendants.
The screening was followed by a conversation with director and co-screenwriter Toni Cahunek and co-screenwriter Lea Cahunek. The conversation was moderated by Janez Pirc, PhD.
