On Monday, June 29, a closing press conference was held in Koper for the PRIMIS PLUS – Stories of Multiculturalism: A Sensory Journey Through the Lens of Minorities capitalization project, co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia 2021–2027 program.
The project partners included the Italian Union, which also served as the lead partner, the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Veneto Region, ATS Projekt, the Friulian Philological Society, and the Institute for Ethnic Studies.
On behalf of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Dr. Lara Sorgo presented the institute’s contribution to the project and highlighted the new multimedia room in the institute’s library. The room is part of the PRIMIS PLUS network of points of interest, which connects various minority communities in Slovenia and Slovenian communities in neighboring countries.
A cross-border tourism strategy was also presented. The document is based on four key pillars: the promotion of cultural and linguistic heritage, the digital transformation of tourism offerings, cross-border cooperation, and sustainability. The strategy emphasizes the importance of responsible tourism, which strengthens the visibility of minority communities without jeopardizing their identity.
