She holds a PhD in Language and Interculturality from the Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska. Her doctoral thesis, "Literary Perspectives on Identity and Belonging: A Critical Analysis of Some Cases from Italian Literature in Istria – Prospettive letterarie su identità e appartenenza: analisi critica di alcuni casi di studio della letteratura italiana dell’Istria," written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nives Zudič Antonič, received an award from the Center for Minority Studies (CERM) at the University of Insubria (Italy) in 2022. In the same year, she was also awarded the "Srečko Kosovel" prize for students of the University of Primorska.
Her research focuses on ethnic studies, language policy, and models of education. More specifically, she examines the Italian national community in Slovenia and interethnic relations, the status and use of the Italian language, and educational models in the ethnically mixed area of Slovenian Istria.
She has published her findings in several scientific articles and monographs and presented them at numerous international conferences, as well as in radio and television interviews. As part of her academic activities, she also participates in seminars, round tables, and training courses, and actively collaborates with research institutes across Europe.
She is a member of the Management Committee for Slovenia and Vice-Chair of COST Action CA23105 Language Plurality in Europe’s Changing Media Sphere (PLURILINGMEDIA).
