Sofija Zver obtained her PhD in applied linguistics from the Faculty of Arts in 2015. The title of her doctoral dissertation is The Position of Languages in the Language Market in the Ethnically Mixed Region of Prekmurje, in which she focused primarily on researching the connection between language and economics and determining the position of languages in the language market in linguistically mixed areas in Slovenia.
She is employed at the Institute for Ethnic Studies as the head of the Infrastructure Program.
