On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, an event was held in Lendava, organized by the Institute for Ethnic Issues, the Institute for Hungarian Culture and the Association of Prekmurje Hungarian Scientists and Researchers, as part of the Month of Science, entitled Prekmurje Hungarian Scientific Activity/ A uravidéki magyar tudományósság.
As part of the program held at the Center in Bánffy,for the first time the cultural workers of the Hungarian national community presented a cultural program entitled Szépbeszőtthittwith a musical and literary selection of works by Hungarian poets and writers from Prekmurje.
This was followed by the opening of an exhibition of scientific publications in the Hungarian language in Slovenia.
The main program of the event was the presentation of a documentary film titled Tudománya peremvidéken – Magyar tudományósság a Muravidéken / Science on the Periphery – Scientific Activity of the Hungarian National Community in Prekmurje and a round table on Prekmurje Hungarian scientific activity with the following participants:
- Prof. Dr. Árpád Hornjak, Head of the Department of Contemporary History, Institute of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Pécs (Hungary),
- Dr. László Göncz, historian and researcher of minorities,
- Dr. Judit Zágorec-Csuka, Director of the Library – Cultural Center Lendava,
- Dr. Attila Kovács, Head of the Unit of the Institute for Ethnic Issues in Lendava. The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
