The Institute’s specialised INDOC Centre includes a library that serves as the central hub for collecting materials on ethnic studies in Slovenia. The library is one of the best-stocked in its field and serves as a key source of information and research materials, supporting both academic research and educational activities related to ethnic studies. The Centre offers a wide range of resources in a single location, providing access to materials on ethnic issues in the form of newspaper documentation, journals, books, research papers, historical archives, as well as online databases and digital collections. The library currently holds over 38,000 books and periodicals.
Users have access to a diverse array of high-quality resources, both from the library’s own holdings and from electronic sources. The library is part of the COBISS.SI library and information system, which connects it with other libraries across Slovenia. Access to information is provided through the library’s own collections, interlibrary loan services, and remote access via library consortia.

Registration and membership
Access to the IES Library is free of charge and open to all, upon presentation of a valid ID.
Children under the age of 14 may register with the presence of a parent or guardian, who must present their own ID as well as the child’s.
Minors aged 14 and over may register on their own, upon presentation of a valid ID.

Borrowing
The loan period for books is 1 month; magazines can only be borrowed for photocopying.
Older books are only available for use in the reading room.
Borrowing is limited to 3 books at a time.
Foreign nationals may borrow books for photocopying only, upon presentation of a passport.
Interlibrary loans are free of charge, the return period is 1 month.

Lending hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Reading room hours: Monday to Thursday: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Friday: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
