On Friday, 9 October 2026, a scientific conference entitled At Home in Language – A Meeting of Small Regions and Communities (Nyelvben otthon – Kisrégiók és közösségek találkozása) was held at the headquarters of the Pécs Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Pécsi Területi Bizottság).
Dr Attila Kovács from the Institute for Ethnic Studies participated in the conference with two presentations: The Hungarian National Community in Slovenia in the 2020s and The Tourism Pillar of the Economic Development Programme of the Hungarian National Community in Slovenia and the muravidek.re Web Portal.
The evening programme also featured a screening of the documentary film Science on the Periphery (Tudomány a peremvidéken), which was briefly introduced to the audience by its director and screenwriter, Dr Attila Kovács, before the screening.
