Organized by the Fiume Barátai Egyesület from Pécs, Hungary, and the Association of Hungarian Scientists and Researchers of Prekmurje, a roundtable discussion titled “Royal Visits to Rijeka During the Governorship of Count Géza Szapáry” a roundtable discussion titled “Royal Visits to Rijeka During the Governorship of Count Géza Szapáry (1875–1877)” was held at the Bánffy Center in Lendava.
The event shed light on Count Géza Szapáry’s tenure in Rijeka and the significance of royal visits to the city in the second half of the 19th century. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Attila Kovács, with contributions from Márton Inkei-Farkas and Dr. habil. Lóránt Bali, who presented the historical, political, and cultural aspects of the period in question.
