The Slovenian community in Rijeka and Croatia was visited on April 13, 2026 by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar. The Institute for Ethnic Studies, Rijeka branch, was one of the organizers of this important event.
The visit began at the Slovenian House of the KPD Bazovica, where staff members of the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Rijeka Unit, had the opportunity to present their work. The President then met with Croatian President Zoran Milanović at the Pećine Elementary School. They were joined by the mayor of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Ivica Lukanović, the mayor City of Rijeka Dr. Iva Rinčić, and at the First Croatian High School in Sušak the rector of University of Rijeka Prof. Dr. Goran Hauser and the principal of the high school Dina Linić Učur as well as other distinguished guests.
