Support for non-seconded teachers of supplementary Slovenian language classes abroad
In 2026, the Institute for Ethnic Studies continues, for the third consecutive year, the implementation of a professional development support programme for non-seconded teachers of supplementary Slovene language classes abroad, financed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Slovenia. The purpose of the programme is to strengthen the accessibility of Slovene language instruction for Slovene communities and individuals outside the Republic of Slovenia, while contributing to the long-term preservation of the Slovene language and culture in the international environment.
In 2026, the programme includes 23 non-seconded teachers of supplementary Slovene language classes who provide instruction in various countries. In addition to supporting the delivery of classes, the Institute also provides coordination of activities, professional support to teachers, and promotes their professional development and the exchange of good practices. The project is proceeding smoothly and in line with the planned guidelines, contributing to greater accessibility, quality, and the sustainable development of supplementary Slovene language education abroad.
