Senior Research Associate
Janez Pirc holds a PhD in political science and a degree in geography. He has been employed at the Institute for Ethnic Studies since 2005. His research focuses on migration and ethnic studies. More specifically, he studies the processes of immigrant integration, the development of integration and migration policies, migration in the EU and Africa, and social processes in Africa. In addition, he studies various aspects of the integration of ethnic minorities into wider society, particularly the integration of Roma into the education system, the political participation of Roma, and other selected socio-geographical processes within this minority. He has participated in numerous projects in the fields of immigrant integration, minority protection, and Roma education.
