Inclusion and success of Roma girls in primary school education
Summary
The purpose of the research was to examine the inclusion and achievement of Roma pupils in primary education in Slovenia. The research is based on quantitative data collected in a group of 27 primary schools with Roma pupils and covers a period of nine consecutive school years – from 2016/17 to 2024/25. The data in the report are structured by grade, gender, and region. In most cases, comparisons between Roma and non-Roma pupils are also included.
The research report focuses on three core themes:
a) the number and proportion of Roma and non-Roma pupils by grade level;
b) the proportion of Roma and non-Roma pupils who have not successfully completed the grade;
c) the proportion of Roma pupils who successfully complete grades 6, 7, and 9.
