The performance of Roma pupils in primary schools in Slovenia in the period 2016/17–2021/22

We analyzed the performance of Roma pupils at the primary school level in Slovenia based on quantitative data obtained from selected primary schools. A total of 27 schools where Roma assistants worked between the 2016/17 and 2020/21 school years were included in the analysis.

Data on Roma and non-Roma pupils at these schools were collected in anonymized and aggregated form as part of the Together for Knowledge2 project and as part of the professional development tasks of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport in 2021 and 2022. The division into Roma and non-Roma pupils is based on assessments of the ethnic affiliation of pupils carried out by the schools themselves.
