Senior Research Associate
Dr. Mojca Medvešek deals with a wide range of topics related to the integration of immigrants, the formation of ethnic identity, and the vitality of minority languages.
Her research focus is mainly directed towards studying the various dimensions of the integration process of immigrants into Slovenian society. She also directs her research attention towards studying the position of the Slovenian minority in Croatia and Hungary and the position of the Hungarian minority in Slovenia.
The results of her research have been published in numerous monographs and scientific articles, including the monographs Priseljenci (Immigrants, 2007) and Pa mi vi povejte, kaj sem!!!? (2007), which deal with the process of integration of immigrants who moved to Slovenia from the former Yugoslavia and have Slovenian citizenship, the monograph Državljani tretjih držav ali tretjerazredni državljani? (2010), which presents findings on the integration processes of immigrants who do not have Slovenian citizenship, and the monograph Opinions of the majority population of Slovenia on immigration, Immigrants and Integration (2022), which contributes to understanding the attitude of the majority population of Slovenia towards immigration, immigrants, and the integration of immigrants.
